- Cassia is one of 4 aromatic ingredients to be mixed with olive oil for the making of sacred anointing oil, according to God's instructions to Moses in Exodus 30:23-33. It's a dried bark rolled in sticks or grounded, similar to cinnamon in taste and sweet fragrance, widely used as spice. In ancient times it was also a valued perfume. Its Hebrew name means to bow and strip off, thus Cassia is a symbol of humility and truth, of yielding to what is right, and showing one's true self
